This Race Stuff

Holy crap this is getting out of hand.  If any Tumblr friends are desk-warming and want to join this miserable discussion, feel free.  You get to see top-notch racism first-hand.

These are quotes of other people, not me:

I watched the Obama video again. I still see a man with power using it to influence people along racial lines. What struck me more, and is irrelevant to the discussion on this thread, is the intent. If your message is, in your heart, the right and true course then you present it to all of America in it’s entirety and trust it will resonate. What he did in that video was tailor a message to a subgroup to get elected. Racist or not that makes me lose some respect for him.

great to know that the younger generation has been taught that there is no racism against the white man, and even if it appears that there is racism against the white man it is justifiable because he has never been discriminated against before

these things are terrifying to me as a white person…i find little solace in the fact that apparently i deserve this

Great statement

And I believe it results from a willingness to see people as individuals.

The opposite is “group-think”….assigning people to a group and conferring special status on that group.
That status can be detrimental….like being a Jew in Nazi Germany.
Or beneficial….like being a 1/16 Native American applicant for a federal job.
Either way the special status is undeserved.

Getting more offensive:

President Obama: African-Americans, vote for me because I am a man of color.

An African-American actor said he voted for Barack Obama because he’s black. Your reaction?

What if a Caucasian actor said he voted for John McCain because he’s white? Your reaction?

I once had an interview for a management position with a Plant Manager. He asked the person I would work for to sit in on the interview. After about 15 minutes into the interview the Plant Manager asked the person I would report to if there was a question or two form me. That person had only one question for me. “Do you have a problem working for a woman?” Your reaction?

I was dumbfounded, I could barely answer with a straight face.

What if that person had said, “Do you have a problem working for a black man?” Your reaction?

What if that person had said, “Do you have a problem working for a white man? You reaction?

And we’ve hit max capacity ( SIPS is me)

SIPS is hopeless. Only way to cure his stupidity on this subject is to send him to the inner city for 1 hr. Compton would be a good stop for him. Send him there and see if he thinks non-whites can be racist. He probably will not make it out alive though. They are so racist that they will kill him.

SIPS, Check out a Prison. You telling me Hispanics can’t be racist? Blacks can’t be racist? Those two groups duke it out over RACE all the time with the 3rd wheel being whites.

You have a lot of growing up to do SIPS.

I kindly reminded him that I’ve been in Palestine, and crossed through the wall to Jerusalem.

This is truly incredible.
